A social down on the linear complex saw Arron Barclay land fish to 35lb with a total weight just shy of 200lb in 48hrs! The lake didn’t live up to expectations but armed with a quality bait, anything is possible. We’ll let him talk to you through his weekend.

I was invited to a social for snag tackle over the weekend, i turned up Thursday night to do a bit of water watching before the social on Friday. I had a walk around and spoke to a few that had been on most the week and all of which were struggling. 

On the Friday peg draw, I came out mid numbers and decided to get on the back of the wind where I had seen most of the fish. 

Well it was hard work from the off with the odd fish coming out. But perseverance was key and a constant spomb every couple of hours seemed to be doing the trick and being the only one fishing at range, I used a nice bed of hemp and maize with chopped worms, whole and crumbed monkey mix and chillirizo boilies

i Fished match the hatch hookbaits over the top in both the monkey mix and chillirizo with a corn tipper to top it off. 

I ended the weekend with most fish from 17 to 35 lb. With two lost and two runs missed. With a total weight of just under 200lb.
